Penelope Guerrero
After graduating from the Massachusetts College of Art, Penelope built a successful career as a global footwear designer, for Timberland, Michael Kors, and Vince Camuto. She later founded her own consultancy, which gave her the flexibility to focus on what she values most: giving back to her community.
Penelope has been a dedicated youth advocate since her own high school years, serving as a counselor at the Girls’ Club and Summer Nights program. She has continued this work as an adult, serving on the Mayor’s Youth Activity and Mental Health Committee, the Haverhill Community Affairs Advisory Board, Make It Haverhill and the Haverhill Chamber of Commerce. She also serves as Treasurer of the Latino Coalition.
Now running for School Committee At-Large, Penelope is committed to ensuring academic excellence, equity, and opportunity for every child in Haverhill.
She will promote after-school and enrichment programs, smart budgeting that prioritizes classrooms, and strong community partnerships that help students thrive.
Her leadership will ensure students receive the resources they need to succeed and that educators have the support they deserve to do their best work.
At-Large candidate for Haverhill School Committee immigrated from the Dominican Republic to Haverhill at the age of eight and proudly grew up attending Tilton School, Consentino, and graduating as a Hillie from Haverhill High School. As a lifelong Haverhill resident, she understands firsthand the value of strong public schools in shaping opportunity.
